Artist of the Week

AOTW #1: Carter Ace

Although no longer necessarily an underground artist, our first Artist of the Week is Carter Ace. This inaugural AOTW is a nod to one of our first underground finds and favorite artists— one that’s not so underground anymore.

Carter Ace blurs the lines between hip-hop, soul, and funk, and is probably better described as genre-agnostic. His music often bounces with playful energy, while his lyrics balance wit and introspection. It’s a sound that surprises without straining, inviting listeners to explore unique soundscapes across every track. Whether it’s a subtle melody or a punchy hook, he makes space for both movement and reflection.
